Welcome to The Carpenter's Montessori School

The Carpenter's Montessori School is under the direction of Desiree Mayert.

Desiree Mayert attended Ambrose University and attained her Bachelor of Arts, then proceeded to attain her A.M.I. diploma from the Foundation of Montessori Training, which is the highest standard of Montessori teaching in the world. Desiree has also completed her diploma in Child Psychology and ECE III. Desiree is also certified in First Aid and CPR with St.John's Ambulance. She also served as the President on the board of the Manitoba Montessori Association.

The Carpenter's Montessori School is a non-denominational child care program. In addition to the Montessori Program which includes Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Natural Science and Geography, The Carpenter's Montessori School also introduces Music, Art and French. French is introduced to children in groups of two to three based on their skill level and ability. They learn basic vocabulary, as they progress they learn how to converse in French.

With respect to discipline, we use the Adlerian approach to encourage the concept of self-worth. Among the goals we strive for are: a sound basis and a healthy attitude for further learning, self-discipline, self-respect, independence, getting along with others while developing a social conscience, initiative, ability to concentrate and self-confidence.

The Carpenter's Montessori School follows the Montessori philosphy allowing the children to have a spontaneous desire to learn and the ability to pace their own development.
