The Carpenter's Montessori School Toddler Program

The toddler program offers a combination of Day Care and Montessori activities for 18 months to 2 years old. Toddlers need not be toilet trained.

The primary goal of our toddler program is to create a nurturing and secure environment where young children can do what they do best - explore everything!

The main focus is language and motor development, assisting the child in developing self-help skills (including toilet-training), and helping children build trust in relationships.

Your child will be gradually introduced to the Montessori portion of our Program with fun activities that include: independence (e.g. learning how to button, zipper and snap clothing); use of materials for the discrimination of size, shape and colour. Other activities are planned to stimulate curiosity and creativity, manipulation of art materials, self-esteem, social and communication skills, and gross motor skills.

The classroom has been carefully designed and equipped with furnishings and creative playthings to handle the particular needs of the toddlers. Each day provides a balance of quiet and active growth oriented activities, as well as time for eating, snacking, napping and outdoor play. Some activities take place in groups, while others are individual.

Please note the difference in Admission Fees for the Toddler Program on the Admission Information page.
